In this post, we're going to talk about 3 common problems of plate-frame filter press and how to solve them.

The problems includes:

1. The filter plate between the plate and the frame of the plate-frame filter press is out of order

2. Filter cloth problem

3. The hydraulic system

Let's dive right in!

The plate-frame filter press is mainly composed of the filter plate and the filter frame, and its appearance is similar to that of the box filter press. Although the operation of the plate and frame filter press is relatively simple, but in the actual use of the process, there will be many large and small problems. If the operator can not timely, accurate troubleshooting problems, it will reduce the service life of the plate and frame filter press, reduce the efficiency of dehydration. In this paper, the hydraulic system of filter plate, filter cloth and plate and frame filter press is introduced, and corresponding solutions are given.

1. The filter plate between the plate and the frame of the plate-frame filter press is out of order

The filter plate is one of the most easily damaged parts of the plate-frame filter press. The good condition of the filter plate will directly affect the working efficiency of the plate-frame filter press. In the actual production process, if you want to extend the service life of the filter press, the staff in the operation of the plate and frame filter press process, the need to regularly check the working state of the filter plate, when the following phenomena occur, can quickly and accurately identify the fault cause, and timely eliminate.

1) The filter plate itself is damaged

When the plate and frame filter press itself is found to be damaged, check the inlet to see if there is any material blockage. Because when the filter sludge is too thick or there is a dry block, there is no medium between the filter plates, only the pressure of the hydraulic system itself, the filter plates will be damaged due to the long time to bear the pressure. At this point, if the plug is found at the inlet, the operator first needs to clear the plug at the inlet. In addition, the wear of the filter plate itself may also be caused by the improper grain size of the plate and frame filter press, so it is necessary to check the feed volume of the filter press and control the grain size of the material within the appropriate range.

2) Water seepage or spray occurs between the filter plates

During the operation of the plate-frame filter press, if water seepage or spraying occurs between the filter frame and the filter plate, the operator shall check the pressure value of the hydraulic cylinder, the sealing surface and the pressing diaphragm. Because the pressure of the hydraulic cylinder is too small, there is a foreign body on the sealing surface or the edge of the pressing diaphragm is damaged, will cause the internal fluid leakage. When these three situations occur, the operator needs to increase the pressure of the hydraulic cylinder appropriately, remove the foreign matter on the sealing surface in time, and replace the pressing diaphragm.

2.Filter cloth problem

If the filter cloth of the plate and frame filter press is worn, the mud will seep into the filter plate from the filter cloth, and the filtrate will become turbid. At this point, the operator needs to stop the filtering operation of the plate and frame filter press in time, check the leakage of turbid filtrate, and repair or replace the new filter cloth. If the operator finds that the press cloth is folded, check the press cloth for mud cake attachment, or check the press cloth spring tension. When the press cloth spring tension is insufficient and the mud cake is attached to the press cloth, the operator should clean the press cloth or replace the press cloth spring. During the whole dehydration process, the press cloth of the plate and frame filter press should always be kept in a smooth state.

3.The hydraulic system

The hydraulic system of plate and frame filter press is composed of hydraulic station, pipeline, oil cylinder and hydraulic motor. If the hydraulic system failure will directly affect the efficiency of the plate and frame filter press. The main function of the hydraulic system is to provide pressure for the plate-frame filter press. In the actual production process, there are two common failure phenomena, the hydraulic system pressure can not maintain and hydraulic cylinder propulsion is not appropriate. If the operator discovers either of these faults in the hydraulic system, check for oil leakage, wear of the o-ring, or the status of the solenoid. Common remedies for this type of fault are to remove and inspect the valve, replace the o-ring, clean and inspect the solenoid valve, or replace the solenoid valve. Hydraulic cylinder propulsion is not suitable because of the majority of the air is sealed in the internal caused, at this point as long as the system pumping can be resolved.

Conclusion

During the operation of the plate-frame filter press, the operator shall clearly understand the causes of the above problems and the solutions. Of course, in addition to this, in the actual production process, there will be other problems, such as the failure of the plate puller, insufficient congestion of the filter chamber and so on. When the fault occurs, the operator shall analyze the problem and troubleshoot the fault. If the problem is complicated and difficult to troubleshoot, the operator can consult the manufacturer and experts of relevant equipment.
